I can be a couch potato sometimes. Sometimes my room will be a complete mess and I will have the biggest pile of laundry that hasn’t been done. Well, I am going to give you some tips on how to stop being a couch potato.
Tell People Your Task
If you tell people the task that you are going to accomplish, then they are depending on you to actually do that task. That makes you want to do it more. For instance, I say ” Hey, I am going to clean my room today and do my laundry.” That would make it where you depended on me to do so. So, I would most likely do it.
You could say ” If I finish my homework tonight, then I get to go get a milkshake before school tomorrow.” That makes you look forward to getting your task done, so you can receive your reward.
Have A Reason To Do Your Task
Every task leads to a goal. I mean a giant goal. Like, “If I do my homework I get to go to the college I want to go to.” That is an important and big goal. So, if you did your homework every night, then you would eventually make it to your goal.
No matter if it’s on your phone background or on your mirror, inspiration always helps. Just find an inspirational quote and either write it down or take a picture. Trust me, it works.
Get Ready For The Day
Even if you do virtual school or work, you need to get ready. After I get ready for the day, I need to do something with it. If I have a nice outfit on or anything, I need to do something with it. What I mean by this is, I need to clean my room or do laundry. Because I’m already ready for the day. Why not do something? Well, anyway, it’s kinda hard to explain but it works pretty well.
Make Your Bed
I know this sounds like such a little task, but it makes a difference. All you have to do is make your bed and you’ll feel productive already. Then, that will make you want to do more productive things.
Listen To Music
THIS HELPS SO MUCH! If you are looking to focus on school or work, I recommend either classical music with no lyrics or just songs with no lyrics in general. It really helps. If you are looking to cleaning or something like that and you want to dance your socks off, then just listen to some of your favorite songs.
